maritime Museum

El Campo Santo Cemetery
This is the original cemetary in Old town and contains many historic graves, including Yankee Jim.. Yankee Jim was the first man hung in San Diego and his ghost is supposed to haunt the Whaley House.

Whaley House
This is the restored house of one of Old town's first and most famous residents , James Whaley. The Whaley family came here as part of the gold rush.

USS Midway
The US Navy Aircraft Carrier, the USS Midway has been converted into a museum and sits downtown on San Diego bay.

Model Railroad Museum
This is one of Balboa park's most unique museums. Its located in the baement under the photographics art museum and includes half a dozen model train layouts of historical SD trainlines. Very well worth a visit

SD Automotive Museum
This small museum in Balboa Park is dedicated to the history of the auto and motorcycle. When I was there they had a temporary exhibt on the mustang.

San Diego Hall Of Champions
This Balboa park museum is a hall fo fame of sorts for San Diego's most famous sports figures. It features the famous players for the Padres and Chargers and also famous San Diegans who made it big on pro teams of other cities.
