Iceland is truly a must see place. Although inhabited for over 1,200 years its one of the world true wilderness's. It made up of dramatic volcanic features covered by tundra and glaciers. The water in the rivers and lake is bluer and more clear than any water you have every seen due to the lack of pollutants.
The climate is also not nearly as bad as one would suppose of a country just south of the artic circle. Due to the gulfstream, its a temperate, marine (rainy) climate. Think Seatlle in the winter and that about what it is. |
