Add one part asian, one part spanish and one part american and you have a Filipino. It's very much a fusion culture that would fit just as easily in Latin America as in Asia. That having been said, it's a very vibrant culture with unique cuisine and a passion for music.

Manila itself has very few sites that would make it a tourist destination in its own. So it makes you dig a little deeper. What it does have is great shopping, fantastic cuisine and great nightlife.

Nightlife along Roxas boulevard doesn't exist anymore. The current city mayor ordered to stop any kind of entertainment in the area. But there's still harbour entertainment at the back of Mall of Asia.

wow! u'v been to Manila and met VTers from there. great! I agree, Manila's best asset is the people and the culture. U should visit the provinces though, there's much beauty in them and we have very nice beaches for sure. =)
