Palatine Hill was the rich neighborhood of Rome. In fact the word "palace" derives from this hill. The largest complex on the hill is the palace of the emporer Domitian. The area is accessed from Via San Gregorio and requires an admission ticket.

These forums were built after the city outgrew it's original forums. They are on the North side of Via Fori Imperiali. They were built by the emporor Trajan in AD 112. There is an admission fee to go down into the ruins, however almost all of it is visible from the street level so imho it's a waste of money to pay the entrance fee.

Once one of Rome's greatest structures, this one is quite disappointing to visit as the structure is almost completely gone and all that is left is a dirt track that roughly follows where the old track use to be.

This area is the excavated remains of 4 temples a few blocks south of the Pantheon at Largo Argentina. Again there is a small charge to go down into the ruins but it can all be seen from street level looking down so there is no need to pay this charge.
