Zebra are common in the park but in general Kruger does not appear to have the large herds of animals found in eastern Africa.

Throughout the rivers of Kruger are hippos. Despite the docile appearance, hippos are among the most dangerous of Kruger's animals being responsibe for more deaths in Africa than any other animal.

Large herds of elephants roam Kruger. They can be spotted throughout the park.

Impala are a small antelope that are the most common animal in Kruger. One can scarcely drive a few hundred meters without running into impala.

Wildbeest generally will hang around with herds of Impala or Zebras, relying on the other animals keen sensing of danger for their own protection.

Hyena's hunt in packs and are one of the most plentiful predators in the park. I was able to snap this shot of a pregnant female

It may have been just the luck of the draw but Giraffe's although plentiful in the park seemed more shy and less likely to venture close to the roads.
