Avenida central
This is a local pedestrian mall and a great place to get cheap local eats. It doesn't have much for souvenirs but if you check the local department stores such as Gran Morrison and Saks you can find some.
Also you can get very cheap soccer shirts that make great souvenirs!
There is a souvenir market on the northern end just behind the Anthropology Museum.
Directions: Avenida Central from Plaza San Martin to Plaza Cinco De Mayo
