Established in 1496 by Bartolome Columbus, Christopher's brother, this is the oldest European founded city in the New World. It was ruled first by Bartolome then later by Christopher Columbus' son, Diego. It has a fairly well preserved colonial district without the overun commercialism of a San Juan PR. It also has many of the country's other tourist attractions and museums. Unfortunatley, I only spent a day here so here are some highlights of the city. |
