Museo Nacional-National Museum: National Museum

  • Although not its most modern museum this is San jose best musuem. it houses a substational collection of pre-columbian artifacts along with colonial and national treasures. The museum is housed in the old Army headquarters.

    Museo Nacional-National Museum: National Museum Grounds

  • The National Museum is on the grounds of the old Army headquarters. It was converted into a museum after the Army was abolished. The museum is as interesting for its architecture as it is its collection of artifacts

    National Theater: National Theatre
  • Tip Rating:
  • This Theatre built in 1897, this theatre is San Jose's Architectural gem. It is still used today for performances which can limit your ability to visit inside.

  • This is San Jose's main market in a colorful building off of Av Central. It ranges from Souveniers to fresh meat and fish

  • This park is next to the National Assembly, a modern but unassuming building. The parques features a statute honoring the struggle against William Walker, an American Southern Confederate, who tried to establish an empire in Central America.

  • The Cnetral banks collection of pre-columbina gold is stored in a vault beneath the Plaza las culturas. This extenisve collection of pre-Columbian artifacts is well worth a visit.
