Probably the best of the HCM museums. Most are fixated on the war and the "party line". this one is a welcome relief from the propaganda. Make sure to catch the water puppets while here!

The Saigon zoo is small and unfortunately mostly still cages. However you can see that they are starting to build more modern habitats for the animals. This zoo is worth a visit to see the elephants that dance in unison for peanuts.

Mikebb Tue Nov 13, 2007 04:11 UTC Hi Jim, Thanks for the Birthday wishes, enjoyed your HCMC page, will be there Feb'08 | kokoryko Sat Apr 7, 2007 20:22 UTC Thanks for your visit to Tripoli, Jim. I was in Saigon (sorry HCM) in 1998, and liked it a lot. Colonial architecture is outstanding in Vietnam; ah, Hotel de ville is not a hotel: it is the city hall (former city hall here). | traveldave Sun Feb 25, 2007 13:59 UTC Saigon looks like a fascinating city. It and Vietnam are high on my list of places to see someday. BTW, thanks for checking out my IL page. | sailor_p Sat Feb 17, 2007 04:16 UTC Hi Jim, thanks for visiting Hoi An VT page. I am still in the midst of updating my Hue page - want to complete my central vietnam page. I love Vietnam and I was surprised that I didn't visit that many places like you when I was in Saigon. Great write-up! |
