"Loire Valley" France by njtourist

France Travel Guide: 68,504 reviews and 147,929 photos

We spent a few days in the Loire Valley and visited the Chateaus of Chambord, Cheverny, and Chenonceau.

"Here is the most enchanting and delightful province of the kingdom. They have named it the "Garden of France" because of the excellence of its air, the affability of its inhabitants and the ease of its life, all of which are found in abundance". This is how a 17th century geographer describes the Loire Valley.

The Loire Valley is known for its chateaux (castles) and wine.
