Rarotonga is ooooooo for awesome.
Great small island with lots of things happening, theres the huge weekly shows at the big hotels like edgewater, rarotongan, theres also great pubcrawls that you MUST sign up with (ask Information center in town)...lots of drinking, puking, *bum*shaking, beer drinking, and lots more new zealanders and aussies than you'd like...hahah(im in nz by the way)..
and the beaches are just....heavenly (esp on the Muri Beach side of the island.
Saturday markets are good...cheap flawed pearls to gift to your pearl-ignorant buddies back home...$NZD100.00 for 5-10 pearls...same ones that sell for $NZD600.00 in NZ.

Raro can be costly if youre not careful....as i found out, but never learnt...
