Getting TO/AROUND: Apart from being on foot, the best way is to go by bus. The island is small, only 30 kms in diameter or so, but because of the buildup of the island (a vulcano) it is impossible to drive around it on a coastal road. All the traffic first has to climb to the central highland and then descent towards a villages at the coastline again. A spectacular busride!
You could bring a rental car from Tenerife, but it would kind of spoil the fun. The island is too small for that.
