Things To Do: Step inside a Manga Cafe!

I am not sure of the name of this cafe however it was located in Shinjuku. Downstairs were endless collections of comics - books and dvds. Upstairs - where this photo is taken is of small booths that come with a desk, computer and bench. It was very quiet inside. Many of the teens who are studying, go there and spend the night...some who cannot afford to rent whilst studying.

I only saw these types of food stands in Takeshita Street of Harajuku. They were very small shops with a picture glass stand of the types of crepes to choose from....it was such a hard decision! The stands would be full of young people standing around eating the rather large crepes! My crepe was banana, chocolate syrup and cream! The cream was to die for! Harajuku is all about the young culture and the crepe shops certainly reflected that!

Things To Do: Have a Cocktail in the Shiodome area

The shiodome is full of high rise buildings and many have fine dining restaurants and cocktail lounges. Yes, pricey however 1 cocktails won't hurt the budget when you are in a beautiful bar with a view across Tokyo! The Tokyo skyline at night is a must see! I cant remember what bar this was in, but it was high up with an excellent view!

Akihabara: Stepping into the Gaming Zone

Akiabara also known as electronic city is filled with gaming, anime, all types of electronics, collectibles associated with anime and anime porn stores. Most shop people don't speak English so it was difficult to find out about there latest electronics however it was great to walk through! The maid cafes are also located in this area. We managed to find one, using a Japanese map, just to have a look. It was slightly expensive for us to go in. After my visit i bought a wii and now im addicted to games!

Hato Bus Tour: English Bus Tours of Tokyo

We went on two of the Hato tours. One around Tokyo for the morning and the other a full day tour of Nikko. The tours were very interesting and the guides had a excellent sense of humour. They often talked about their own lives and how they have grow up in Japan. The tours leave from the bus port however they do offer a hotel pick up service. The bus station also has plenty of vending machines for some supplies!

We visited the Outer Imperial Gardens on our morning tour. The imperial palace is protected by two moats. The moats have survived ww2 and the great Kanto earthquake. It is a beautiful peaceful place and we definitely could not see the imperial palace from where we were.
