<b>I visited Panama several times while working in Miami, Florida back in 1988-1990.

Panama City is a very cosmopolitan place surrounded by amazing rainforest and some of the finest snorkeling and deep-sea fishing in the world. However Panama is not a place that most travelers dwell in. This has probably got a lot to do with the canal which in my opinion gives Panama a transient image. The US invasion or shall we say intervention of 1989 also did not help in promoting it as a safe place or a must see tourist stop off point!!</b>
