In 1481 Solothurn became the 11th canton of the Swiss confederation and the number 11 has taken on a special significance for the town. One finds 11 churches and chapels, 11 historical fountains, and 11 towers. The cathedral counts 11 altars, 11 bells, and three times 11 steps. Next time I'm going to have 11 beers!
