Luggage And Bags: i took a backpack and a large purse. it's not fun to have to carry around a lot of bags in this city. there are a lot of people walking around and you don't need to take up anymore of the sidewalk than necessary. of course if you have the money to spend or rent a car, having more bags shouldn't be a problem.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: bring a coat or jacket no matter what time of year. san francisco's weather can change quickly and often does. expect fog in the mornings, a chill at night, and if you're down by the water a jacket could possibly be a must, i was very cold and wind blown when down at fisherman's wharf.
