Kobe is so elegant, more elegant than Kyoto I feel. The streets are wider and the electricity lines are all buried, giving it a feeling of expansivness that Kyoto lacks. The people are dressed well and the weekends attract couples from around Kansai. Love coming here.
Luminarie: I visited Kobe in December 2001, and met a fellow VT member Sakura_Kobe. We went to the famous Luminarie, Christmas-lights festival. It was very very crowded and very tacky, but nice!! See my Travelogue for more.

Riding the shinkansen last year from Osaka to Hakata I glimpst Kobe for one minute, but it was a memorable inter-tunnel glimpse of a fabulous looking city!
