While wandering around looking for a Metro entrance, I saw a woman with a map. She looked Spanish. I asked her if she knew where the entrance was and she said 'I am looking for it too!' I then looked at her map: it was in Japanese! I said 'It's in Japanese!', she said 'How do you know that?!' She was Japanese, but had had a fair bit of 'work' done. Well, we then hung out together, went shopping and then she invited me to dinner with her friend. We met the friend in front of the Opera. She was Korean and much older, in her 40's. We walked a few meters to her Hotel and got a taxi, then off to this restaurant behind the Louvre.
Favorite Dish: I nearly died when I saw the prices! Coming from anywhere it was expensive, from Prague: way out of my reach. I ordered a tiny plate of sushi (2 pieces = my budget). They ordered a full course: sushi, sukiyaki, chawan-mushi, tempura, hot sake... it went on and on. Then they said: 'Don't worry, it goes on the company account!'. The Korean woman was the head of Ericsson Asia. The Japanese one, a high-level PR person from Ericsson Japan. Well, it was the best Japanese food I ever had, as the Japanese woman said 'Better than in Japan!'. The bill came to about 600Dollars, paid for by a Gold American Express Card. Oh! And we found the subway entrance... :))

timtrina Tue Oct 5, 2004 00:28 UTC I was too chicken to climb to the very top of the Eiffel Tower too! Tim did though, and took the camera and camcorder up there. Lovely Paris page - we went when it was freezing too, but it was just as magical as we expected! :) Trina | ettenaj Sat Mar 13, 2004 17:27 UTC Enjoyed the story on the restaurant.... you did very well for yourself there, congratulations!!!!
