I havent spent much time in Old Delhi and am not too eager to venture there on my own. I took a tour run by the official Delhi tourist office. Old Delhi was extremely dirty and congested. The Red Fort was a small oasis of calm. I also really like the Qutab Minar south of the city, the ruins were another world. I prefer New Delhi especially the wide tree-lined streets of the southern suburbs. The Lotus Temple was also worth visiting.

The road-rules... Delhi roads are test of your nerves! Would never ever dream of driving here, though after a week, I did sort of start to relax sort-of (a little!) and gasp somewhat less as we were almost swerved into for the 1000th time!!! This was a unique experience indeed. Here are those cows on the road you have heard about before probably. Actually not as common a sight as I expected. Wished I had taken some pics when we drove through one neighbourhood that was full of them!! Next time.
