I fell totally in love with this city -- ok, ok, I know I say that about everywhere I go, but still, I LOVE THIS CITY!!! The Brazilians are wonderful people, vibrant and full of life. More than the USA, they deserve to be called "the great melting pot" -- practically everyone here is of mixed heritage (European, African, and indiginous). Something about this city just brings people together. Is it the soft powdery beaches? The many islands and mounts of lush green? The romantic Portuguese stone-chipped sidewalks? Maybe a little of all these things... whatever it is, this city never stops intriguing and never stops delighting!
The slender strip of white buildings seen here is Ipanema, sandwiched between the South Atlantic and the Lagoa Rodrigo da Freitas.
