This is the house we rented!

UPDATE:
Our entire family traveled to Savannah again on June the 1st, 2005. Our children are older and larger now, so instead of renting 4 hotel rooms for the week, we located a 100 year old home to rent through Savannah Getaways! We took hundreds of new photos of restaurants, sites, etc. We are updating this page and our tips as quickly as we can.

Savannah is a city overflowing with Southern hospitality, striking historical landmarks, and flourishing gardens. From the charms of an intriguing Historic District to the beauty of the balmy beaches of Tybee Island, Savannah is a city that lures thousands of visitors each year. The city contains many squares for stolling through the Historic District and viewing the colonial homes. There are tiny antique shops and quaint boutiques throughout the district.

You must see it for yourself!

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Great historic area. Beautiful old homes and gardens
  • Cons:High humidity during the summer, with afternoon showers and mosquitos.
  • In a nutshell:You MUST see Savannah. Go in the SPRING when the gardens are in bloom!
