Finally! (I'M JUST STARTING THIS, NOT DONE YET) Melbourne was an incredible experience, so like the US, and yet so different. Of the cities I've been to in America, it reminded me most of San Francisco or Chicago. In truth, I think it's been my most favorite city I've been to so far.
The first impression one gets as you drive in from the airport is of color and art. Melbourne has many beautiful artistic touches to it.
Maybe it was because we were there when it was Christmas, so maybe the city was extra busy, but Melbourne was so vibrant and alive. The streets were full of people. One street in particular had musicians playing on it and lots of people milling around shopping and just enjoying the day, but it's not hectic crazy like New York. |
Pubs Again, maybe it was because I was there around Christmas, but it seemed like the Melbourne locals like their pubs and they had plenty of nice ones too! |
