expecially in forums I have often read so bad comments on Cancun... and I want to say first of all that I don't liked either packed or organized tours and that I prefer to overnight in a cabana than in a four stars hotel... but Cancun is not only the zona hotelera to which it's normally related and which indeed is expensive and most of all a tourist trade... if you go and discover downtown, and more precisely farther the part with touristic shops, you can also find a nice lady, in a shop selling local articraft, who doesn't try to attracts you to her shop (an habit in this area) and who offered me to bring some coffee in grain of his family production when I asked her where I could find it... and round the corner of the main roundabout after this shop there is a mall frequented by local people... if I should do a list, I myself have been more charmed by a smaller town, Valladolid, but aslo Cancun has his charm if you just go deeper into it... and it's only for us tourist that the man in my pic starts his work at 5.00 in the morning, on a free beach near some posh hotels, to rid it of seaweeds, sign of a clean sea water but which tourist dislikes... on the other hand at least because of our (of we tourists) manias he has a work... doesn't it seem a controversial place with contradictions?...

Cancun, FL is just a few blocks area. Good that you went south. The south exists too!!!!! d-;

I have visited Cancun twice and it is lovely and a pain at the same time. If your off the beaten path you meet some wonderful people and some bad people, but its all an adventure. I like a cabana or the millions of stars hotel....
