Tamarindo Travel Guide: 146 reviews and 221 photos
Playa Tamarindo is a touristic place, even if it's also the destination of the local tourism but definitely it's crowded around Christmas time and its restaurants and shops are the typical touristic ones, exactly like the seaside in Italy around "ferragosto", with the difference that the sand is white and very fine and together with seagulls there are pelicans, waders and some blue birds... while playa Grande, at less than 10 km from the first, and which I discovered almost by chance, only the last day of my three ones here, is a small paradise...

Great pages and tips! Your wildlife photos are lovely.
I prefer Playa Grande to Tamarindo. It still has the small town feel. Try KIKEs restaurant as you come into town!
