For those that have yet to visit the Earth's ever decreasing rain forest Costa Rica is the perfect introduction. It is easy and relatively inexpensive to reach from most place in Europe and North America. The country also has an established and affordable tourist structure. Furthermore besides offering an excellent opportunity to visit the rain forest, Costa Rica has superb beaches where you can relax for a few days. I met whole families coming down to Costa Rica for beach vacations and a little hiking in the rain forest on the side. Also Costa Rica has now even become a major destination for surfers because of the fantastic waves on the Pacific coast. I think with such a combination of fascinating things to see and to do that Costa Rica is an excellent destination that the whole family can enjoy. |

Nemorino Tue Mar 11, 2008 23:40 UTC Interesting tips on the museums and nature walks. I don't mind a bit of mud occasionally, but what I'd really like to do is go on a skywalk up among the tops of the trees in the jungle. | Sininen Sat Nov 25, 2006 15:16 UTC Great tips and pictures of Costa Rica. Made me want to go back there. | Stephen-KarenConn Tue Aug 1, 2006 12:25 UTC Hi Paul, Thanks for a great overview of Costa Rica. Karen and I are making our first trip there next March. | JessH Sat Jul 22, 2006 10:22 UTC Hello Paul. I really enjoyed your tips, especially on the national parks! The spiders made me worry a bit, but I won't let some ugly critters stop me from exploring a new country! Greetings from the desert (where we have scorpions, too) / Jess :-) |
