My trip to Belize was arranged as a winter break, the first that I actually ever took in my adult life. I visited Belize, while my hometown, Toronto was having its snowiest winter ever. Hence any break would be good as along as it was warm. I am not one for lying on a beach for long stretches so I need to visit a country that had more to offer. Belize looked like such a country. Besides beaches, it has Mayan ruins, snorkeling, jungle forest and loads of wildlife. Hence Belize looked like the perfect destination. I am glad to say that for the most part it was. The ruins, forest and snorkeling were great. I did have some minor complaints about the country. Some of it is becoming over touristed, the crime rate is growing rapidly and it is a little more expensive than you might think. Otherwise I thought that Belize is a perfect destination for those wanting a winter break. |
