  Headed to Athens, seen some of the typcial sites. Would love to visit this site but I can not figure out a way to get there from Athens Traveling with a group no car, on my own this day. Can you tell me how you traveled to this site? Thanks so much.

  Brings back memories of some time I spent in Athens in the 1960s and 70s. I had also heard negative things about Athens, but was pleasantly surprised by many parts. And yes, the Acropolis really does live up to expectations, at least it did back then.

  Wonderful page on Athens Paul. Hans and I thoroughly enjoyed the Acropolis. My only disappointment was that it was being renovated (again) & there was a crane & scaffolding all over it. Loved the Plaka!

  Nice page though I hate Athens and am sorry for the 90 min I wasted there hearing whistling guards around the Parthenon. You CAN go to France and skip Paris. It will (would?) give you a completely different view on France. Same for Greece ;-)))

  Paul, a beautiful and useful page on Athens! The more I read pages like this, the more I know that I have to visit and experience mainland Europe in detail to really experience it's amazing history. Thanks for the great tips here!
