An Outdoorsman's Paradise If you are an outdoors man than the Yukon is the place for you. The Yukon is a vast wilderness and can be regarded as a paradise for those who love the great outdoors. For you, the Yukon has it all. It is a great place to go fishing, hunting, hiking, or wildlife viewing. Kluane National Park is one of the great parks in North America with superb hiking and challenging mountain climbing. It is the home of the highest mountains in Canada. As for cities and towns, well lets just say there is not much in the way urban life here with just two large towns, Whitehorse and Dawson City, in all of the Yukon. I visited the Yukon in the summer of 1992 when a close friend of mine was living there. If found the whole experience to very rewarding and I highly recommend a visit for anyone who desires to get away from it all. |

It truly must be one of the last areas of real wilderness...thanks for your tips. | victorwkf Tue Sep 18, 2007 14:54 UTC The Yukon is indeed one of the last frontiers of Canada! | CesVT Wed Aug 15, 2007 15:13 UTC Such great (RECENT) memories, visiting your page!! 2 things: I got there BEFORE the mosquitoes (late may), at least in Dawson/Whitehorse... Also, the Dawson ferry is FREE & very regular (never had to wait 1/2 an hour...) But it's also LOUD, esp. at night! |
