The Horseshoe Falls, Niagara Falls
I have lived in the Canadian Province of Ontario all of my adult life. As a home, I am sad to say that sometimes I have taken Ontario for granted. However since the SARS outbreak in April 2003, Ontario has been the place to avoid. When I reflect upon this I become very disturbed because Ontario has so much to offer as a travel destination. Toronto and Ottawa are vibrant cities where there are many great museums and sparkling nightlife. Outside of the big cities, Ontario offers much for the outdoorsman. The fishing here is world class. There are great places to go canoeing, hunting and camping. The provincial parks are outstanding with breathtaking scenery. There are even pretty decent beaches on Great Lakes. What is even more important is that all of these attractions are easily accessible if you have a car. So come and explore Ontario

We went to Niagara Falls for our Honeymoon in 1964 - now I want to go back to visit Fort Erie. I have discovered my g-g-g-grandfather was in the Battle of Lundy's Lane during the War of 1812. Good tips - thanx.

Interesting new tips (new to me, anyway) on Fort Mississauga and ice-fishing. I don't really blame the fish for not biting at -20C. I don't think I would, either, LOL. We went to Old Fort Erie with our then-small children in 1981.

I really enjoyed the places I visited in Ontario a few years back. I especially agree with you about the tacky "attractions" at Niagara Falls.
