I struck out for York for the fact that I knew of it's historical and architectural importance in history. Having never visited any city of comparable historical signifance at that point in my travels, I had to go to York. It did not disappoint. Although I did miss some of the museums that I should have visited, I found the city quite fascinating and would highly recommend a visit. |

Nemorino Sat Mar 14, 2009 22:09 UTC My visit to York was even longer ago than yours, but I was also very impressed -- and so were my then-quite-small children. | MalenaN Sat Oct 7, 2006 07:46 UTC York sounds to be a lovely place and for a long time I wanted to go there, but still haven't been there. Great tips Paul! | traveldave Tue Jun 20, 2006 15:49 UTC I never knew anything about York, and would probably never have considered going there.
