Madrid does not rival Rome or Paris as a spectacle, but just the same it has plenty to offer any traveler. I think that Madrid has few equals when it comes to museums and art treasures. The Prado is one of the world's great art galleries and has to be included to any trip to Spain. Also because of its central location Madrid is a great place to stay in order to use a base to visit such great cities as Toledo and Segovia. Furthermore Madrid is equaled only by Barcelona for having the best nightlife in Spain. This is saying alot because the Spanish seem to never go to sleep. I think if you stay in Madrid for a week that you will have more than enough to do.

Pros:The Best Museums in Spain. Niced Relaxed Atmosphere for a Big City
Cons:Overpriced Hotels for Spain. Not the Place to go to for Medieval Spain

Excellent tips - so far in Spain I've only been to Barcelona, but I'm dying to see The Prado! I'd never even heard of the Thyssen-Bornemisza before, thanks for clueing me in!

A very good page on the delights of Madrid! It seems that you covered a lot of the main attractions when you were there. Interesting tip on the "Guernica" - I had heard about the incident but had not realized that Picasso had made it so infamous!
