I found the Netherlands to be a great pleasure to visit. Mind you my trip was blissed with near perfect weather during my nine days in this extremely charming country. However even if you have poor luck and tour the country during its frequent wet spells, it is still well worth a visit. Amsterdam ranks as one of my favourite cities in the world. Furthermore historical towns like Delft and Leiden are also well worth traveling out to. The country is so tiny and the transportation system so efficient that you can easily see all that the Netherlands has to offer by basing yourself in Amsterdam and seeing the rest of the country in daytrips over a period of two weeks. This makes the Netherlands the least stressful country that I have so far visited.

Nice coverage of the Netherlands, especially the museums. I agree that their rail system is superb and makes for stress-free touring. I also did a bicycle tour of the Netherlands one year, and enjoyed it very much.

Paul, a really great page on the Netherlands! You saw quite a variety of sights and took some excellent photos. That museum of mechanical musical instruments sounds very interesting!

Paul, when you come back, check out the 'new' Booijmans-Van Beuningen museum, it just opened last May! Nice introduction to Nederland.
