  • Overall I had a great time at Selcuk and Ephesus. Part of the fun was this wonderful hotel I spent two nights in. The hotel was very well located if you want to visit the other sites in Selcuk other than the Ephesus site. It is actually across the street from the Isa Bey Camii and just a short walk from the St. John Basilica.
The staff here was very helpful and English speaking. In fact the owner, whom I shared a waterpipe with, used to live in Sydney, Australia. He also owns a great motorcycle which he will happily show you pictures of. The only I problem I might have had with the hotel is that it was rather cold here at night.

Unique Qualities: The hotel has a great restaurant and bar. I found that it was a good spot to have a beer after I toured the local attractions. There is also paid internet service available.

What an HONEST, informative, interesting introduction. Sure glad I visited in early Spring because there were no crowds. Having seen and loved Ephesus, I admire your personal insights and outstanding photos.

Wonderful page and very beautiful pictures, Paul. Actually the first one with the library without someone in it, really surprised me. It is always so croweded. But is one of Turkey's must visit places.

Usually I'm not very interested in ruins, but these sure look interesting. Probably because they're so well preserved compared to others.
