Take a Cruise on Lac Annecy

Favorite thing: One of the more interesting things that I did while in Annecy was take a cruise on this prestine lake. Lac Annecy is described as being the cleanest lake in Europe and from what I could see, I won't argue with them. The water is astonishing clear.
The boat travels around the perimeter of the lake, taking in the numerous chateaux. One will be awed by the fact that these are all privately owned for this is the land of the filthy rich. The mountain backdrop against the lake and the chateaux, is also breathtaking.

The Place des Terreaux of Lyon

Favorite thing: Lyon's place des Terreaux is one of the largest public squares in all of Europe. It is a fine place to start your tour of Lyon as you can see virtually all of the main sights on the hills over Lyon from the square. Also the Hotel de Ville and the very good Musee de Beau Arts are right on the square.
