Norton Rat's: Fun Cusco Biker Bar
  • Tip Rating:
  • Nightlife Spot: Norton Rat's

The Norton Rat's is set up as somekind of Biker's Bar as you might find somewhere in the American Midwest. There is a motorbike usually parked outside with apparently belongs to the American owner. Inside the bar is pretty much your standard sports bar with satellite TV where, if you are a huge football fan like me, you can catch Monday Night Football. Interestingly the entire ceiling is covered with flags of nations from all over the world. Also of note, this is the only bar in Cusco where you can sit on a balcony over the Plaza de Armes and do a little people watching. The food here is of the standard pub variety and of no special merit.

The Cross Keys Pub: My Favourite Pub in Cusco
  • Tip Rating:
  • Nightlife Spot: The Cross Keys Pub

The Cross Keys Pub was my favourite of Cusco's many drinking establishments. It basically looks like any other English publike place you might find across the globe that catters to travelers however I found the Cross Keys to be very laid back. The premises are also large enough that even if it is nearly full, you still find a nice quite corner. Most importantly for me, they had satillite TV so I could catch some NFL football while I was there. This seemed to be at odds with other sports watchers since there were few North Americans in the place when I visited for a second time. Europeans just don't get the NFL.
I ate here but I found my cheeseburger to be rather ordinary. There is a full fledge restaurant also in the building under the same ownership however it is expensive by Peruvian standards.

Wow, 5-star tips. Paul, you've done a magnificent job with these pages I learned so much, and I value your details, thorough explanations, superior photos, and, especially, your passion for travel and for ruins. A delight to read and to see.

Happy birthday, Paul, and congratulations on this interesting Cusco page. As always I am impressed with your detailed, knowledgeable tips. Glad Machu Picchu was not a letdown. The less-frequented sites like Pikillacta and Tipon sound fascinating as well.
