Come and have a cup of coffee!
I had the pleasure of having Rose (Rozehill) visiting me in October 2002.
We had such fun! Hope to find some time to add more of it on my tip's pages!
I will never forget this year!
I think I met about the whole world!
At our Bruges trip we had a short meeting with Evelyn Coleman, an American female writer.
I have put a picture of our meeting at the nightlife tips as I took both of them to a small pub, often overlooked by tourists, but frequented often by locals.
I will be meeting Evelyn again a few weeks later at Antwerp.
In December 2002 I had Chinthaka (non-VT member) visiting, in March 2003 I went to Bruges with Leroy (Brewdog) and Karl (Hopdog) and in June 2003 I went to Bruges with John & Sarah (Macdoggie) and Caroline (B_Caro).
We got filmed! When we hired a tandem (see the sport tip), Rose and I practiced first at the Market square. And there the crew of Granada TV asked us if they could shoot us for the program "Stars in their eyes". So I thought if they would make us world famous `-)
we might as well return them the same favour by putting them on VT!
I forgot to ask the names of the crew but the young woman is Amanda and at the very right is the Spanish winner of a European play back contest by covering (life) a song of Julio Iglesias.
At this moment I am a bit sad not to think of it at that moment to have him cycling the tandem! That would have made HIM double famous `-)
- Pros:you can easily fall in love with this city
- Cons:don't stick to the "golden triangle" where tourists get lost and money as well in the tourist shops
- In a nutshell:there is a paradise of peaceful streets and area's if you turn around the corner

Hello Dannie! Brugge looks so tempting...what a wonderful page about it. I will be back for more later. Happy birthday from Finland!
It's weird, we have family living in Hulst (Netherlands) which is only a 45 min drive from Brugge. We have been talking about visiting this city many times, but so far we haven't. After reading your beautiful site I feel we definately MUST visit soon!

Thanks Dannie, for your kind compliments again. The mussels were memorable!! YUM!
Brugge looks very pretty. There is something nice about Europe that one knows its Europe and not North America!
