-DAY TRIPS Train Review

The traincompany offers a lot of different combined train tickets.
If you plan to do something extra, please ask for info and prices about B-DAY TRIPS.
When John and Sarah (Macdoggie) visited in June, we bought us a B-day trip to Ypres which included the trainticket to and from and a the bicycle rental for a whole day (till 8 pm) for the current price of 18 Euro's in total (that was the most expensive as we were 4 distance zones apart from Ypres, so it might be less if you start from another station).
For that same trip we would have paid close to 30 Euro... only for the train!

They also have a combined ticket train and a visit to the War museum.

If you don't want to visit anything at all, and you are traveling with a small group, check if you get reduction for a groupsticket.



Ok... so we got ourselves a really comfortable bike with 7 or 8 gears on it. You will need those, some parts of Ypres Salient are a little hilly.
We cycled the Peace route and the plan for that route, you can buy at the tourist information centre. Recently they have translated the back with all the interesting info into an English version! Great! Finally !
It is great to cycle around here!

Be ecological! Train Review

Be ecological if you can and leave your car at home! Take the train instead. For those visiting Belgium, Ypres is easily reached within reasonable time from major cities by train.
The train station is only few minutes walk from the little city centre.
For those who wants to get more out of their day/train trip I recomend highly to search for a B-DAY TRIP.
Those trips are combined with extra's at reduced prices.
