One of my favorite cities so far! In August 2000 I went to Lisbon on a city trip.
I wanted so desperate escape the grey weather we had for months and months. There was not much difference between the seasons that year.
The first day was brilliant weather, the second day started very grey wiith rain. I was already feeling panick coming up, but by non the sky was as azur as it was the day before! The picture doesn't lie, does it?
I was very charmed by this city, there was so much to see and so few time!
I really would go back for a longer time and visit the places I skipped now.
Was it just bad timing but at that tme half of the city always seemed to be packed for restauration and half of the squares were broken up for about the same reason.
So... whenever the full beauty of Lisbon is revealed again, let me know!
I am ready to revisit!

|  | The new city: Parque das Naçoes Parque das Naçoes was the new location where the 1998 World Expo 98 took place.
Brand new buildings, a new metro track leading there, with beautiful metro stations.
When you fly out from Lisboa, you might be lucky and catch a glimpse from out of the window of the plane.

The charming old city View on Castelo de Sao Jorge, Alfama.
It is one of the main attractions in Lisboa.
That and the tram 11; the Alfama neighborhood and the many churches.
