    Getting TO/AROUND: Barcelona's airport is big, it has 3 terminals: A; B & C.
We flew in with Brussels Airlines as we had the chance to purchase some promotion tickets.
I always try to remember when checking in to ask for a seat at the window and not just above a wing, but with small planes like these it seems to be almost impossible to have a full view.
Also... accordingly the time of the day and your direction, will determine if you will have a nice view or just the sun in your eyes `-)

Getting TO/AROUND: "When going to the city centre from the airport, you have a choice of different utilities: shuttle, taxi, bus, train + metro.
We had chosen for the last one, starting to take the train to Barcelona main trainstation.
Marie (Marikitt) had warned us not to take the bus that drops you at Plaça Catalunya. A lot of tourists take that bus and at the square they will be "welcomed" by pickpockets who know all tourists will be dropped here.
Not that you will not have to be careful taking the train or the metro. Always keep your eyes open.
The trainstation in Barcelona gives connection to different metro lines. To go to Gracia, where we rented an appartment, we had a choice of both.

Picture is taken at the automatic stairs/bridge going from the airport to the trainstation at the opposite side of the street

Getting TO/AROUND: It is possible that your plane is not going to taxi all the way to the gates. In that case you will be picked up by a bus that gets you to the terminals or, when leaving, that will get you to the plane.
The busses are mostly overcrowded as they want to push as much passengers into it to safe a second trip.
    Seats are hardly available.
It is polite and a proof of good manners if you offer your seat to a parent with a baby.

Getting TO/AROUND: Being a frequent bicyclist I recognized the problem the hills would give me if I only have to rely on my "leg-power". As long as you stay in the flat area all is ok and I saw lots of people cycling.
But if you live here and you need to make longer trips and get from A to B at the most quickest way possible and still economical, ... then there is only one other option left:
    "the motorcycle" or "the scooters".

It was nice to see how a special parking space is reserved for this two wheeled engines!

I think you have to be courageous however to manouver through the busy and packed streets !

I also noticed that the streets are one way streets, which made it quite easy to cross them as pedestrian.

Getting TO/AROUND: I noticed there were a lot of taxi cabs driving around. Although public transportation is excellent, a taxi might be more safe.

Just a small addition to this picture is that I was charmed to see that also in Catalunya people expressed their wish for peace.

Danny, you did not tell, who the food hunter was!... I had a better time in Barcelona in February this year. Can't say the same for Madrid just recently visited. Nice page and tips.
