lenoreva's new Germany Page

by lenoreva - last update: Apr 2, 2003

I have travelled through Germany quite a bit in the last 7 years: Both big cities - Berlin, Dresden (see travelogue - not complete yet), Munich, Köln (Cologne), Düsseldorf and smaller ones - Wiesbaden, Goslar, Würzberg, Jena, Weimar, Bamberg, Aachen, Mainz, Tübingen, Trier, Rothenberg ob der Tauber, Lengries (see Bavaria travelogue - not complete yet), St. Goar, and Nördlingen - to name a few. I love the Rheingau area for its great hikes (through beautiful forests) and wine. Along the Rhein river are some great castles, including my favorite Berg Rheinfells. Berg Eltz is another great castle in the area (on the Mosel river).

It will probably take me awhile to get my Germany page together, so bear with me!

The picture is of the Rathaus in central Bamberg (Northern Bavaria). It is a UNESCO world heritage site and well worth visiting!

Yes, visiting castles is really a nice thing to do around here. I went to the Karlsruhe VT meeting that Bernd mentioned. There'll be another one at Schwetzingen (near Mannheim) in the spring.

Yes gummi bears are a good reason to visit Germany ;-) I'm addicted too. But from your tips I see that you found some more good reasons as well. BTW have you ever visited Karlsruhe? We have a VT-meeting on Feb 6 here. Feel free to join us.
