We chose Arhus because it seemed to be the easiest place in Denmark to get to from Germany. We took a train to Flensberg (on the German side) and then took a train from there to Padborg (on the Danish side). From Padborg we went straight to Arhus.
We stayed 3 wonderful days in Arhus and really enjoyed it. Den Gamle By (the open air "old town" museum) is one of my favorite places to visit in the whole world in fact. A must see!
