"La nuit musicale de Beloeil" Beloeil by Luchonda
Beloeil Travel Guide: 18 reviews and 47 photos
Beloeil is a very small village in the province of Hainaut - located between Tournai and Ath.
Everything (cultural and social life) is dominated by the Castle of Beloeil.
The castle itself is famous for its library, which includes more than 25,000 books.
Also famous for its French styled gardens designed by Len?tre in 1711. And believe me - those gardens are huge (25ha) and perfect for festival lovers as long as they respect the nature - but we did
Both sitting in the park - enjoying the music of J.S.Bach.
I forgot to tell you that the Castle and its huge greens were open for public. On several places about 300 performers of classical music did their upmost to create an atmosphere of Baroque music or the musical world of Bach.
Typical scenary of more than 400 years ago. Now a days, J.S.Bach would drive a Honda Car !
- Pros:Great atmosphere - nice gardens to stroll around
- Cons:None
- In a nutshell:A nice daytrip in the province of Hainaut

Great looking castle, Luc. I can immagine that in summer the gardens are well suited for an evening concert. Lovely page!
Hi Luc, thanks for your e-mail. You've added some fine photos here in your new travelogues and updated tips. Yes, I'm sure I would like it in Beloeil, too. I went to some concerts in Paris last week, but haven't posted any tips about them yet.
The Castle of Beloeil is a good attraction for a small village! Especially if you may enjoy classic music there. Thanks Luc for the virtual tour!
Another interesting town in Belgium. Yes, you can be sure that when visiting Belgium I won't forget to taste a local beer. :-)
A very nice place . I will try to remember for when we will visit Belgium, some time !
I like those lost places, Luc; the castle impresses, but . . . when is the music festival?
Great new page, Luc. What a nice garden and I love Bach... what a better place to this festival? ( is the mobile piano a Honda one ??? ) :o)
Lovely page, castle and festival !! Thanks for showing this nice place, I never heard of before.
What a great place to visit. I just love all of the gold trim and the flower arrangement was beautiful too. The mobile piano was a bit of a worry...it would be going out of tune all of the time, wouldn't it? Great page, Luke, thank you.
110 km from my famous city? not bad, am sure I can do it with my bicycle!!! thanks for adding the picture with the cycling tour route.
