Getting TO/AROUND: RyanaAir - low travel Budget to more and more different areas in Europe.
Budget travelling airline - leaving from BXL South - recently also Ostend to smaller airports in Europe.
Comfort is low - planes fully booked most of the time - correct respecting flight schedule - safety on board well highlighted.
Our flight to Italy was from Bruxelles South to Treviso Airport (30 km from Venice) - took about 1hr20min and was correct !

Getting TO/AROUND: Ryanair - a low budget way of traveling through Europe ! No top comfort on board - but the outside view remains the same !
So what - Alitalia, the regular airway or Virgin and some other low budget traveling experience?????The transport from Treviso airport to Venice : About 10 euro
    Make up yr choice.

Getting TO/AROUND: Most attractive and popular way of transport in a City erected and transformed in a landscape of Canals.
Station yr car at the "Communal Parking" cross the street and buy you a ticket for the local taxi.
It will bring you around or to several terminals on the Canal.
Cost : only 5 euro - step on step off - valid for 90 minutes and you will have a first impression off the City !!

Getting TO/AROUND: A little bit funny - but logic.
Mail express is delivered by this small boats !!
Not only mail - but just everything because there is no other way.
The inhabitants of Venice (about 60.000 people) have to park their cars outside of Venice on special parking places.

Getting TO/AROUND: Every shop/restaurant or even private homes
in the inner city are isolated and unreachable by cars or trucks. So a last supply by trucks is on the Banchina del porto commerciale.
All products are loaded on small boats.

Getting TO/AROUND: Next to the local Vaporetto ( local busses) you can take a private taxi. Once in Venice let us not discuss about prices. Just look at the way you want to enjoy a trip on the Canal Grande

Getting TO/AROUND: Floating on the Canale Grande is a must to have a first/last impression on this historical city in northern Italy.
Especially when you have yr private guide, showing you the less touristic places.

Lovely photos of Venice. Did you bump into Romeo and Juliet when you were in Venice ;))

Luc I love Venice, it was a pity we were there for only two nights, and one day at Burano Island. Next time we will stay longer. Your Venice page is great.

The self service restaurant called Chat Qui Rit is worth a visit to see just how rude the cashier and manager can be. They are unbelieveable.

I'm going back to Venice in March and I can't wait! But I think I'll skip your idea of going up in a balloon, and I'm afraid, the 1000 $ glass figurines will have to stay in the shop.
