Ephesus - historical city in Turkey

One thing is clear - all pictures are taken by my daughter Kim or her boy - friend Fred !!
I just allow myself to report this pictures because i went to this city myself - with my daughter Kim in 1996 ! I was used that time to video - not photographing.
Fred allowed me to use this pictures for VT - because it was beautiful and interesting to report on Turkey historical cities !

Greek/Roman Pillars

Let me invite you to see and enjoy :

- The Heracles gate
- The Basilica
- The Prytaneion
- The fountain of Trajanus
- The house of joy (footstep)
- The temple of Hadrianus
- The Celcus Library - the Arena and the road to the former harbour !

The Goddess Artemis

Artemis-goddess of fertility .
Efeze and Artemis - They always go together in this area near Izmir and Kusadasi ! The western part of the turkish riviera.

Pros and Cons

Great historical place but extremely hot, and no shade!

Wonderful that Kim revisited for you. Fabulous...truely romantic. I am fascinated by these ruins. I wouldn't want to be at the 'right' of those toilets... ughh.:-)

So much history here Luc! Those ancient Roman ruins are so impressive and amazingly long-lasting! Great shot of those stone arches still standing at Hierapolis!!

Great page, Luc. I was lucky to visit Ephesus a few years ago but I did not remember of the public toilets ! They are in better condition than the one in Dougga, Tunisia !

Luc, you do Ephesus proud! My favorite ruins have been elevated even higher because of your stunning photographs and informative text. Photo by your daughter of sunset is awesome! Great travelogues.

I agree about the crowds. Visiting Ephesus was a glorious experience just the same. Great page.
