First impression : in fact an ugly metall construction, but once strolling around and getting settled next to the basic pillars, you will get encharmed - in my opinion, the best view is from the "Buenos Aires" street - but the reason might be my journey to Argentina and it's Capital There must be a reason why BsAs is called "Paris" of Latin America

Shortly after the victory at Austerlitz Napoléon ordered to built the Arch. There are four huge relief sculptures at the flank of the four pillars symbolising : - The Triumph of 1810 - Resistance - Peace - La Marseillaise Between the pillars of the Arch you will find the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the eternal Flame, commemorating the dead of the two world wars.

The towers of Notre Dame rises to a height of 69 metres and contribute to the monumental appearance of the cathedral. This harmonic facade was adopted by almost all the great Gothic cathedrals from the second half of the 12th century. Look at the cathedral in Reims, Brussels...

The Notre Dame, located and THE highlight during my visit - Ile de France - is definatly my best experience touring around in the city of lights. The present cathedral square, or "Parvis" is already impressive, a sewage and water system in the heart and soul of Paris. The first picture is showing my daughter and some good friends. A general overview on the cathedral. Climbing up the "Dame" is via the entrance 'Rue du Cloitre-ND" and you have to ascend the staircase coming up to the north upper room. A heritage giftshop will give some breath. Further climbing up will bring you to the chimeras gallery - 46 meters above the square. The gallery itself will impress you by fantastic rock birds, hybrid animals and mythical monsters The overview on several scenaries on Paris, the Seine and bridges, the typical French architecture is really breathtaking. After all this, you will return to basics via the south tower, getting a bit dizzy, so take care and have a good glass of wine in the next by brasserie "AUX Tours"

The symbol of medieval Paris : the story of Notre Dame and the hunchback Quasimodo Saint Etienne basilica was already an old building when it became the cathedral of Paris in the 10th century Once here it is more than worthed to visit and climb by foot the 422 steps to the "Galerie des chimères" - bodyguards against evil and scénary of the story by Victor Hugo BTW : With the Paris Museum Pass the entrance to the towers is free of charge.

Impressive tour inside the church. The main vault inside the cathedral is 34 metres (112 feet) high. Very impressive are the west and the south " Rose Windows" Strolling around in the Notre Dame is allowed - even when there is a public mass going on. It is not allowed to take pictures with flash.

There are about 14 churches in Paris. A lot of them you can see once you are on the top of the Eiffel or the Notre dame - a perfect overview on the city - if the weather conditions are good. - Sainte -Chapelle - Eglise St- Germain - Eglise de St-Louis en l'Île... only to name a few. In my opinion the most beautiful church is Sacré Coeur, the most impressive Notre Dame. The Sacré Coeur was built after the French-German war in 1870 as a commemorating of the 58.000 people who died. It must have been ingenious labour to make the foundations of this church, and to carry the white stones, the bell etc upwards to the mountain Remarkable : the two bronze statues of Saints, one of Jeanne d'Arc,picture two, the other one of Louis the Saint
