  • Tip Rating:
  • The temple on the Hill or 306 steps to heaven
located at about 15 km from Chiang Mai
A panoramic view on the City is top - if the weather is good !The temple was builded in the 14th century and as many temples in Thailand a base of relics from the Buddha

    Jungle Trek: Jungle trek
  • Tip Rating:
  • This part of Thailand is a must to visit !
Put on your safety belts when riding on an elephant ! But the excursions are worthwhile
to enjoy the pure nature of this country.
An umbrella is the best tip to be dressed - a good pair of shoes aswell because afterwards we did a trip on the river by floating pieces of wood !!

    Excursions: Jungle trek
  • Tip Rating:
  • A lot of greens - a lot of tourists - but a must to visit whenever in Thailand.
You can enjoy special treks - living among the locals for one or more nights ! Special breakfast and lunch - so different from the luxery hotels - back to nature !!

    Things To Do: The locals
  • Tip Rating:
  • Next to the traditional elephant riding - a visit to local farms and villages is on every list of visiting Thailand. Nevertheless it is interesting to visit this parts of Thailand. It will give you an impression on the culture of this country - years ago - because in the meantime - a lot changed in Thailand !!

    Excursions: Boating in the triangle
  • Tip Rating:
  • Speed boats equipped with HONDA engines will bring you to the triangle !!
Again a very nice experience - i will always remember the naked children diving from the rocks to get some souvenir stuff from the tourists.

I agree that the area around Chiang Mai is not (yet) so touristily overcrowded as Phuket. It seems we had the better weather than you. Love your pictures!
