  • The boat trip on the Chaophraya river is marvelous, inspite of the rainy day - from an elephant ride through the djungle - over to a boat trip in many parts of Thailand.

  • From Bangkok up to Chiang Mai - the north - at about 50km from BK you will find this so called "Versailles of Thailand" For a long time it was used as outside residence of the
the kings from Ayutthaya builded in the 17th century by king Prasat Thong !!

Luc, very interesting tips on your time in Bangkok! It is a country that I've always wanted to visit and was thinking about doing it this winter - but the fuel surcharges on flights were a bit excessive at the time!

Thanks for visiting my Bangkok page, Luc. Lovely photos and tips here! The floating markets look very interesting - I wanted to visit one during my stay, but never found the time. As you say, Bangkok is a place that you "have to see"! :-)

Ahh, looks great ! But I miss food tips :-) Where are the real spicy thai meals ? That detail picture is fantastic :-)

The temples are really impressive! I would not like to walk across the guardians on a dark night! They are frightening! Interesting page on a country and a region I do not know at all!
