Huachucha City is realy just a gully next to Sierra Vista and Fort Huachucha. The town was first known as Campstone Station and was a stop on the now-abandoned Southern Pacific Railroad between Tombstone and Patagonia. The town's history is closely related to that of Fort Huachuca. It was where soldiers assigned to the fort parked their trailers. Trailer parks and small businesses evolved into a town. The fort is still what keeps the town from dieing. The map is from the Cochise County Government and shows my part of Arizona. |
