Theme: Kayaking/Canoeing
The Olympic canoe course at the Augsburg "Ice Canal". Specially constructed for the Munich Olympics in l972, this was the first canoe slalom stadium in the world. There are manmade obstacles and mobile current-diversion units. Water velocity is around 3-6 m/sec. at a flow rate of approx. 10 cbm/sec and the height differential between starting point and finishing line is 4.5 m. The total length is approximately 600 metres. There are also four additional slalom training courses located here, each with a different grade of difficulty.
Equipment: Whatever you need for cayaking... but be careful, the water is really Icey!!!!
