MAO MEMORIAL At the south part of the square are the Chairman Mao Memorial Hall and Qianmen Gate. In the Memorial there are always huge queues to visit. I was not so interested, so I can't tell you what's inside (Mao, I guess ;-)) Tiananmen's gate and rostrum preside at the north of the square, the Great Hall of the People sits on its western edge and the Museum of Chinese History and Museum of the Chinese Revolution on the east.

BADALING The government has restored this part of the wall so that every tower and turret stands just as it did when the Mongols overran the country 700 years ago. Observation holes are available on the upper part of the battlements. This section of the wall also houses a museum of Chinese history, which includes a photo gallery and the Great Wall Circle Vision Theater, a 360 degree amphitheater which shows a 15 minute film on the history and legends of the wall.
